The Lightning keep motoring along as they’re now on a four-game winning streak and it’s the big names keeping them in the win column. Brayden Point is on a five-game point streak (5 goals, 2 assists) while Brandon Hagel has pointed in 8 of his last 11 (8 goals, 5 assists). Steven Stamkos is slowly marching to 500 goals with just 1 goal in his last 9 games, but he does have points in his last 4 (1 goal, 4 assists). Victor Hedman had 2 more assists last night and since December 6th is tied with Nikita Kucherov in helpers with 15. Andrei Vasilevskiy is on a roll and will be in net and looking to even his career record against one of the few franchises he has a losing mark against. Coming into tonight’s action he is 3-4-2 in 9 games against the Wild with a.

They have a dismal 2-11-2 record in the North Star State. The last time they won in the Twin Cities was April 2nd, 2011, a 3-1 win featuring goals from Ryan Malone, Steve Downie, and Sean Bergenheim. It’s also the second game of a back-to-back series for the Lightning, the 7th one they’ve already had this season. So far they are 3-3 in the back half of these doubleheaders while they are 5-2 in the front half. Unfortunately, in one of those quirks of the schedule, they will be facing a well-rested team as the Wild haven’t played since December 31st, a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. Minnesota needed that rest as they’ve had a few players banged up over the season. Marcus Foligno (3 goals, 8 assists) missed some time with an injury and Joel Eriksson Ek (12 goals, 16 assists) has also been nursing an injury. Unfortunately, their availability allowed former Lightning draft pick Sammy Walker to be loaned back to Iowa in the AHL and he won’t be facing his former franchise. Much like the Lightning, the Wild rely on their top line for much of their offense.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Minnesota Wild: Live Stream, TV Info, How to watch/listen(Photo by Scott Audette/NHLI via Getty Images) Don’t miss the action as the Tampa Bay Lightning takes on the Minnesota Wild in the final game before the Christmas holiday. The Tampa Bay Lightning has been on quite the hot streak as of late, extending their win streak to a whopping seven games. Unfortunately, when the Lightning rolled into Sin City to take on the Las Vegas Golden Knights for the first time in franchise history, the Bolts momentum came to a screeching halt in the final seconds. On Thursday night, the Lightning made their way home to the Amalie Arena to take on the struggling Ottawa Senators in the hopes of getting things back on track and bringing home another two points to add to their league-leading totals.
Whereas the Lightning has had a day off to collect themselves after taking on the Senators, the Wild are fresh off a battle with the Lightning’s in-state rivals, the Florida Panthers, last night in Sunrise. As has been proven many times this season, just because a team is experiencing some obstacles this season doesn’t give the Bolts the right to take their feet off of the gas. One of the team’s biggest downfalls this season has been playing to their opponent and not to their abilities. If this trend continues, the team will find themselves in a difficult position as they approach the postseason.

Zucker also has 14 goals to his name along with 11 assists for a total of 25 points so far this season. This places Zucker in second place on the team in overall points, just behind Staal. Leading the way for the Bolts is forward Nikita Kucherov. Kucherov is the first player this season to reach the 50 point mark. This achievement came on Thursday night against the Senators where Kucherov picked up his 26th and 27th assist of the season. There were many glaring mistakes in Thursday night’s game which could have potentially sunk the Lightning’s return home. If the Bolts want to remain successful and kick start another win streak, they will have to evaluate their shortcomings from the last game and work towards not repeating these mistakes against the Wild. As the whole of the Bolts Nation anxiously awaits puck drop tonight, let’s take a closer look at the information you’ll need to ensure you stay on top of all the action between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Minnesota Wild.
The Wild have two players leading the way offensively right now. The first of these two players is Wild forward Eric Staal. In the 34 games he’s played so far this season, Staal has scored 14 goals and 17 assists for a total of 31 points. Right on Staal’s heels in terms of goals is Wild forward Jason Zucker.

Kirill Kaprizov (20 goals, 25 assists) and Mats Zuccarello (16 goals, 24 assists) pace an offense that is 18th in the league with 3. 14 goals per game. Their power play is solid at 23. 3%, but most worrisome for the Lightning may be the fact that they’ve scored 6 shorthanded goals, second in the league behind the Flyers and Golden Knights who are tied with 7.
When the final buzzer sounded, the Bolts were able to get the job done, but their victory didn’t come without their fair share of struggles. Now, as the Bolts Nation prepares for the Christmas break, the Lightning has one more task in front of them. Tonight, the Lightning will charge back into the Amalie Arena to take on the Minnesota Wild. While the Wild hasn’t seen the same level of success the Bolts have this season, they are a far cry from the Ottawa Senators.
